Edradour – a visual story
Back in 2006, Clarity produced a documentary for the Edradour Distillery in Scotland. The documentary was released as a DVD and 5,000 copies were sold within months of its launch, mostly to visitors of the distillery.
Fast forward to 2025 and we were asked back to help the distillery celebrate 200 years of whisky production at Edradour. However, the distillery is now closed to visitors which meant that creating ways for people to experience the place was even more important than before.
Working directly with the owner, Andrew Symington, we updated a book about the history of the distillery, included new photography and inserted over 40 minutes of video through QR codes printed on the relevant pages.

You can watch one of the videos below:

The book was launched at a special event held at the distillery in September and is now being distributed worldwide to agents, customers, bloggers and fans of Edradour.
Clarity and Edradour – a documentary approach
As we did in 2006, we adopted a documentary approach to the project in every aspect.
We interviewed the owner and staff to understand the changes that had been made in the past 20 years, we followed the workings of the distillery from grain to bottling over the course of several days – both for photography and for video. We made use of drone video to help visualise the site and the expansion it is undergone. We featured video interviews throughout the book so that the audience can hear directly from those involved as well as reading.
“It looks fantastic and the feedback has been really great, we couldn’t have asked for anything better. The video clips work really well and everyone is surprised when they scan the QR code and it plays on their phone.” Andrew Symington, owner of Edradour Distillery.
